So yes, this is what I plan to do my whole Summer, glass after glass of this Mint and Basil spritzer followed by days spent outdoors and daydreaming of starry nights, time with friend and family, days at the lake/beach/pool and all the things that make this, the best season of all.
Oh, and this is also free of alcohol and healthiish so that makes it even better. That, and the fact that’s just so chilly and refreshing and that really cools you down making the crazy high temperatures bearable.
How to make Mango Basil Spritzer
My secret is using mango juice, but real made from scratch mango juice. But don’t worry about the “from scratch” part because it’s not that hard. Just head to the frozen aisle section of your supermarket and grab a bag of chunked frozen mango. Then add them to your blender with enough water to cover the chunks and you are all set, whirl everything up until there are no more chunks left. Fresh (and super cold) mango juice for everyone.
Once you have your juice in hand add some Ginger Ale to give it that fuzzy bubbliness that makes spritzers so delicious, and a couple of basil leaves. Serve into a glass filled with ice and call it a day.
And if you feel like going the extra mocktail shaker mile, decorate your glass with a sprig (or two) of basil and enjoy the compliments that your Mango Basil Spritzer will get you.
- ⅛ Cup mango juice
- Ginger ale
- Basil leaves
- Ice
- Add 4 cubes of ice to a glass.
- Pour the mango juice and fill with ginger ale.
- Add the basil leaves and stir.
- Garnish with a basil sprig.
- Enjoy
